Dear Colleagues, On behalf of the Organizing committee you are invited to take part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Speleology and Spelestology: development and interaction of sciences " which will be held from 16 to 20 November 2010 in Naberezhnye Chelny (Russia)
THEMES OF CONFERENCE In the frame of the conference three thematic sections are planned: 1. Section of Speleology: -Modern methods of studies using GIS; -Problems of Speleogenesis; -Results of regional speleological researches; -Biospeleology; -Caves in mine workings; -Historical, archeological and paleozoological studies of caves; -Mineralogy of caves; -Ice caves. 2 Section of Spelestology (artificial caves): -Methods of studies and inventorying of caves; -Regional spelestological studies; -Secondary mineral formation; -Geoecologic research aspects; -natural and antropogenic factors of the formation of underground landscapes. 3 Section of protection and use of the caves: -Cave ecology; -Legal questions and practice of protection of the caves; -Recreational e activities and safety.
Participation and registration You should fill in the registration form before September 1st 2010
Conference languages are Russian and English.
Venue
The session will be held in the conference hall of the Pedagogical Institute.
Presentation of papers Main rules: - Paper's content must correspond to the themes of the conference -One participant may present no more than two papers Texts of the papers should be sent to the organizing committee before September 1st 2010.
Technical requirements to manuscripts: Texts should be limited to 2 to 6 pages, typed single spaced using the MS Word processor, preferably using Times New Roman 14 pt font, and should not contain figures, tables and photographs embedded. References should be pointed in the text in squire brackets and include the author’ surname (or the first word in the title of the book), the year of edition, page e.g: [Dubljansky, 1963: 117]. The list of references (under the heading "references”) should be placed in the end of the text. References to figures and tables are given in round brackets: (fig. 1), (table 1). Black-and-white figures (no more than 600 kb every file) and tables should be submitted as the separate files. Captions to the figures should be given on a separate page of the text. The files with the paper and figures should be archived by zip (rar) and sent as a single file.
Accomodation The participants will be accommodated in hotels and tourist centres of Naberezhnye Chelny. You will be informed about the exact prices and variants of accommodation in the second circular.
Excursions After scientific sessions, two days excursion will be organized. The participants will visit the capital – Kazan and speleological and spelestological objects of Tatarstan: Sarmanovsky and Aktashsky copper mines (XVIII cent.); gypsum caves; Kamsko-Ustyinsky gypsum mine – one of the largest in Europe.
